Tesco collections once again took place 29th November – 30th November 2013
We would like to say a huge thanks to the fantatsic band of volunteers and Tesco staff who manned the Ormskirk & Burscough stores.
We would also like to say a massive thanks to everyone who came along and donated food or just came to say hello and tell us their stories. We not only collect food but also signpost people who are struggling for food and need more information.
Quote:‘I was touched by one lady who approached and started to fill our trolley with several items and as she was loading told me that two years ago her daughter would have been so grateful for such a service as, just before Christmas she was abandoned by her partner and left with a small baby and no support. A local church stepped in and, seemingly, turned things round for her. Her mother, tearfully, kissed me and said “You are saints” before rushing off.’
